After showing a comic drawing and a monster, I give something in between: a monster and a little girl. Sort of Beauty and the Beast...

For the monster, I was inspired by Jeff Smith's Bone comic, which I highly appreciate. Just inspiration, I didn't tried to copy his rat monsters...
The little girl is Prune, the main character of one of my unpublished comics. She meet elfs, fairies, trolls, and so on, but she is never afraid.
I wanted to make a contrast between the menacing, impressive creature, and the girl, more surprised / perplex (why is it aggressive?) than afraid.
The story behind this scene is yet to be written, despite the fact the drawing dates back to January 1993...

I love the addition of the child in this. It shows the true innocence of a child; the lack of judgment based on appearance. I also really like that creature, he's simple, yet very unique (and such detail!) Well done indeed. :3

Waah, you captured very well the spirit of my drawing!
Thanks!

Yeah it really reflects the concept of "Beauty and the Beast" :) Nice job.

I love the detail of hair/fur on the beast :D

And the girl on the tree stump is cool.

Wonderful work! I love the contrast between the huge beast and the little girl. She looks curious more than anything. Also, I appreciate the nod to Jeff Smith's Bone. That's my all-time favorite comic, and I just loved the rat creatures and the great red dragon.

Yes, that's the expression I wanted to give.
Jeff Smith is a great artist and storyteller. I have some of his comics, but not much. I was lucky to find a translation in French of his series (and spin offs) at my local library, I enjoyed the whole a lot!

Unfortunately, I lost all of my copies when I moved recently. I really loved them, though, and eventually I hope to be able to pick up a copy of the colour version.
